127 years after the death of Vincent Van Gogh, comedian Oli Bettesworth realises his people need a ginger hero.

What follows is an ear-laceratingly funny one-man show about identity, legacy and pubic politics, as Oli explores whether the famous painter is the champion his red-headed brethren deserve.

A passionate presentation with PowerPoint and profanity.

About

World-weary and anxious beyond his years, Oli employs his brand of confessional storytelling, deadpan absurdism, surreal playfulness and explosive vitriol as he attempts to make sense of a life that hasn’t come with the proper instructions (and his own rapidly expanding gut).

He has been performing since January 2010 performing around London and the rest of the UK, including three runs at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has also appeared on bills alongside Sara Pascoe, Dan Antopolski, Paul Foot, Trevor Lock, Pappy’s, Dr. Brown, Dave Schneider and Luke Toulson, and has been booked to open for Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin.

He was also the co-founder of popular comedy nights The Painted Grin and CROWN the KNAVE Comedy Club.

He is also the host of 'Oli Bettesworth's Downloadable Weekly Podcast Programme', a podcast in which he interviews/berates up-and-coming UK comedians.

Oli Bettesworth's Downloadable Weekly Podcast Programme

Each week, Oli invites an up-and-coming comedian from the UK circuit to his luxury apartment in the exotic south-London idyll of Mitcham. Here he interviews them in an attempt to get to know them better and drag them down to his level.

Series 1 of the show features Tez Ilyas, Malcolm Hardy Award winner Candy Gigi Markham, Hackney Empire winner David Mills, founder of Weirdos Comedy Club Adam Larter, podcast superstars ManBuyCow, rising stars Ben Adams and Lenny Sherman, comic/rapper Joe Jacobs, Nick Elleray and a host of other luminaries from the comedy scene.

Series 2 features up and coming UK comedians such as Joz Norris, Darius Davies, Alasdair Beckett-King, Rosie Holt, Jon Long and Peter Bazely, visiting US comic Toby Muresianu, punk 'n' roll band The Black Sparrows and many more.

Series 3 has just begun, and is sizing up to be another fun collection of episodes.

The first few episodes of Series 3 are available here. For Series 1 and Series 2, listen and subscribe below.
